    I remember my mum and dad's worried faces when the ERM debacle sent interest rates over 15%. I also remember my Dad having to take increasingly lower level jobs as redundancies took hold and jobs were few and far between. :(

    I doubt it would have been any different under a Labour government though. Except perhaps the dole amount would have been greater.

    Oh and by percentage of average income Dole payouts are less today than then.

    Yes, it was bad but this lot are taking our liberties way and need to be stopped in their tracks. No party in this country should be in for more than two terms - they all do too much damage when they are.
