NRP made redundant

My brother is an NRP and pays the PWC the going rate of 20% for his 2 kids. CSA are not involved.

His divorce is due to be finalised any day now but their finances were sorted when they separated. PWC bought him out of the family home and he has £60K in the bank. His income is too low along with the savings to enable him to afford to buy a home of his own. His savings are being eaten up paying rent.

It looks like he might be made redundant in the not too distant future and wants to know if the PWC can claim any of his redundancy package and/or the £60K. He knows that the level of his savings mean he won't get any benefits after the initial period of JSA and so his savings will be eaten up further.

If there is any part of the redundancy that is payment in lieu of notice, according to the CSA, the appropriate percentage of this money is payable to the PWC. Unfortunately the CSA website is clear as mud on this topic so this information is from a phone call with them. I understand that you are not going through the CSA but it might help to understand what their rules are.
