I have just had a play around with it and you have to add an item into your "bag" then when you view your bag you can add the code, it does not affect your bag. It is then applied before payment is taken when you move on the checkout section.

I have not managed to claim this yet though beacuse while I was trying it, lookagain's website went down and isnt working again yet!
