According to Parkers car is worth Just over £2,300 in good condition. OR has said that I wont have IPA but presume that they can change their minds at any time.
Im still thanking god for small mercys but I'm now back to sleepless nights worrying about what we will do without our car - we really cant afford £50+ a week on taxis and neither do we have the money for my OH to buy the car - if we did he would have gone and bought himself a new car by now.
Suppose I just wait for the enevitable to happen.
Just when I felt able to "breathe" again. :(

hi all

just been reading your thread i am having to take the insolvency service to court as i cant get it through their heads as my car is worth 1k and are currently unemployed how do i get to work with my tools on a bus/train etc i cant believe they are going to spend around £500 of tax payers money in admin fees to get about £300 for the car at auction they have a financial limit to go by which i think is 2k so you can see they have funny ideas with valuations.
This is all based on when i find work and its also cheaper to run my car than travel on bus/taxi etc as i do contract work for many different companies. Good luck to all on here who have the same fight stick to your guns.

will keep you posted

regards

Out of Cash - I wish you luck with your fight however they will argue if you are unemployed you don't need your car. You need to prove you need your can to look for employment as you would be expected to have a car to be employed.

Why don't you pm lisamummytoarchieplusbump.

If you have a car the Jobcentre will expect you to find employment obviously further a field than where you live which might help you as evidence of needing the car

i think you'llget to keep the carfrom that letter.

and the guy taking their OR to court nice1 there was a post on this thread that said you didn't have to have a job tobe able to keep your carif your work would need a car when you were to get a job so looks like they are daft to take you to court.and as the car is worth less than £1000 good luck both of you.

So what do you think - have I pleaded my case well enough or have I just waffled myself into losing my car for sure?

I think it's good, I would also mention that you use the car to attend interviews, and you believe employers are unlikely to hire you if you don't have access to transport.

We did have a back up plan until it failed so miserably on its MOT (R reg Escort that is) so much so that Kwik Fit refused to drive it out of the bay and it is now scrapped - this is why I wasnt so concerened about losing my car initially but now that car has gone and we cant afford another Im worried that we're going to be left with less than nothing!
