I went through the phone book and yell.com
the only person so far that can provide installation and sky box/service (approved sky provider) is Blackwoods. The other two in the phone book have not answered their phone in 2 days of calling
All other satellite and aerial installers are quoting £80-£150 for parts and then service charges on top.0 -
!!!!!!!! At that sort of money I'll come out, install your sky, wash your dishes and do your your ironing... Honestly this whole Health and Safety cr*p really has gone too far... I mean really I'm supprised you can even buy a ladder now-a-days without a Users Licence or some sort of Competancey Certificate. These people really are taking the p1ss... So a window cleaner can come out and climb a ladder and clean my windows for £6 (Inc. Bottom windows) but a sky installer needs £150 to climb a ladder to screw up a bl**dy sky dish... really makes me mad :mad: :mad: ..
Can I suggest having a look around your local area and see which way the sky dishes are pointing and go up and fit the thing yourself and point it in the same direction as the others in the neighbourhood. At least give it a try I'd say. worst case you'll have four 6mm holes in your brickwork if it doesn't work and you have to take it down (Well that and a sky package in a box)..0 -
Window cleaners up a ladder?:eek::eek:
Oh no, not here they arent
Nowdays its a long brush and hose under pressure thingy. No way are they allowed to climb a ladder - and mines only a storey and a half:eek:
Was the same with the Sky.Saw that the dish needed to be attached to the chimney stack and said "no chance, we dont have ladders" !!!! Like where are dishes supposed to go if not the roof?
