ARGH! Help with Lloyds please!!

I'm trying to set up my DMP myself, spoke to Lloyds on Monday who told me to cancel my direct debit for my loan payment which I did, then yesterday got a letter asking why I have cancelled (erm, because you told me to as I couldn't make the payment?) So I phoned Lloyds who are denying getting my offer letter and now want to increase my overdraft so I can make this months loan repayment and charge me loads for this service. They are refusing to cut the interest and hold the charges. They have given me no choice but this or let it go to the collections department. I told them I'd phone back in a bit as was getting too stressed out over the whole thing. I really dont know what to do, my debt is already pushing 16k and I really don't want it to get any bigger. Please, can somebody advice me??? Thank you

Lloyds stress me out so much i have a loan ,overdraft & credit card with them .Loan & overdraft i have never had any trouble with CC is a different story .The best thing to do is just send your reduced payment to them ,they wont be happy but just keep sending them that same payment every month .Have you sent them an income & expenditure form ? just send them one with a quick letter saying this is what i can afford to pay .I have found Lloyds always want more but stick with it you only can pay them what you can afford they will see this with your income & expenditure form .They will get the message and accept when they see you are not going to give them any more .

Thanks Susieanne. Ditto with the Lloyds debt, they are my biggest creditor by a long way with loan, cc and od. I sent them the income and expenditure form along with my offers of payment but apparently they haven't recieved it, hmmm!

I just don't know what to do for now, do I have to pay them my full loan repayment amount this month? It was due yesterday and I don't have the £155 to pay them atm. I offered a token payment but they wouldn't accept. I really really don't want to increase my debt with them!!

I know its scary at first i remember thinking i dont want to add to my debt .It doesnt matter that they said they wont accept just send them the reduced payment anyway .The loan & overdraft said they wouldnt accept mine at first but they do ,they accepted i think it was month 3 so i was scared as my payments for loan should have been £300 but i got a letter from them after id missed 2 payments saying they accepted my reduced payments :T Credit card is a different debt altogether i kept speaking to an indian call centre & they just kept telling me different things one week they accepted my plan then next week somebody else said they hadnt so ive never know where i am with the CC .In the end i stopped calling and just kept sending the reduced payment .They have passed my CC debt on now to another debt ,they have been much more helpful .

So should I miss this months loan repayment? Do you know if I can set up a standing order for the loan amount without their help? They only want me to do a direct debit from my new non lloyds account atm but I totally don't trust them to only take the amount I want to give!! Thanks so much for your help.

I am with CCCS at the moment but from next month im going it alone .I am going to set standing orders up myself through internet banking .I would not give them your bank details definatly not that means they are in control as you say i would not trust Lloyds .I have two bank accounts one where my money goes into & the other one is going to be the one which i will have the standing orders coming out of ,so im going to take money out of my main bank account and put just enough money in the other to cover my DMP payments .
Yes miss your loan payment and set up a standing order and pay them your reduced amount as long as they are getting a payment that is what matters .The worse thing you can do is send nothing .They may ask you from time to time to make a payment over the phone dont do it always stick to the payment you have agreed .I did it once and gave them my main bank account details i was worried sick for months incase they started taking money out but they never did , i learned from my mistake .

Thank you! I just spoke to NDL and they said Lloyds should not be trying to get me to take out more credit and I can lodge a complaint against them so thats a bit of a relief! If Lloyds still won't let me set up a standing order I can send them postal orders and they're not allowed to refuse that, so thats good news too. x x
