Hi there, reading some of the other posts I wondered if anyone could give me some information! I have a few questions, so hopefully will learn something from you all!
I have been receiving CSA for the last maybe 5 years off and on for my son who will be 17 in September.
Q1 When do I need to notify CSA if my son is staying on at school or going to college?
Q2 I haven't received any money since about October , my ex partner moved jobs, he has a habit of this , however with me regularly calling CSA I was continually told they did not have any new information . He has always refused to pay, so has had a DOE since about 2005...........the other day I received a letter saying the new assessment means he should be paying me £60 a week from NOV 08. Now I received this letter, but that does not mean I am actually going to get the money right??? Does anyone know how and when the payments may kick in???
Q3 My ex owes arrears of about £5400 simply due to regularly working and not telling the CSA his new details, does anyone know how arrears work? Will they enforce them?
Q4 Previously my ex paid £35 pounds and from the letter I received I don't think his earnings are any higher to warrant the £60 payment. I was told he did not give any rent/mortgage payments, so I'm just wondering when he does will the amount he has to pay drop again?
Wow.............Ive almost written a book there! I hear you say call the CSA and ask them, believe me I have done and just get well don't really know, you will have to wait and see.
Much obliged

Have they implemented a DEO on his new income yet? That is what you need to know - as he has a habit of upping and changing his job, it should be a case of an immediate DEO put in place. As for arrears, it should be that they collect his normal payments plus an amount for arrears at NO MORE than 40% of his net income - but could be less depending on how much is owed and how long it will take for him to pay it off. If he owes £5400 it means he will have to find at least another £225 per month for him to repay it within their 2 year timescale.0

Well to be honest they couldn't even really confirm if he was actually still in work.........which is a bit senseless really, calculating the payments sending out letters to me and ex partner!! When I asked if they would be implementing the DEO they told me they would give him the opportunity to pay.........now that aint gonna happen!
O think his weekly wage is about £240 and as I said he hasn't declared any housing costs!
These arrears have been accumulating since about 2006 and never seem to go down, think he was paying about £5 a week off them before.0 -
Anyone any clue???
Answers would be gratefully received0 -
When did your case start (pre/post March 2003) - you mention housing costs which suggests you are on the old scheme, but also say you have been receiving payments for around 5 years which suggests the new scheme.0
