pre order DVD's that arrive early

Just wondered if anyone had experience of pre-order/new release DVD's arriving early. Seem to recall having read a thread about a new release arriving on the Saturday instead of the Monday but can't find it now.

If anyone has done pre-orders and found they arrive a day or two early I would be grateful if you could post which site you ordered from - thankies!

It happens quite often with play.com, I have had DVD's and CD's arrive as early as 5 days before the official release date, it's not a set in stone guarantee though. More often that not, you may get it a day or two early, especially if it's release date is a Monday as they tend to rush them out on Friday to try and make sure that customers get it on the release day, but of course some manage to shoot through the postal system and arrive next day (Saturday).

I pre ordered Transformers last year for my husband. The release date was the Monday and he got it on the Saturday. This was from Amazon.

I pre-ordered a CD last year - it arrived on Saturday even though Monday was the date of the release...
