Vit D3

Id never heard of Vit D3 until I saw a thread on here when I was looking for something to help with my aching ageing joints. I have to say I found the actual medical information difficult to understand but I have just come across these articles which do seem to help in lay man's terms.

I have bought the Vit D3 from the site that Ted Hutchinson gave a link to in the states as its difficult to find it in the Uk in the right sort of strength and at a reasonable price.

That link shows how quickly Vitamin D3 information online is going out of date.
These revised guidelines recommend that adults aged 50 years and older should have 1200 mg of calcium/day and 800 to 1,000 I.U. of vitamin D3/day. It's frankly disgraceful actually that even July 13, 2007 they dared suggest such a trivial amount. Now anyone who suggest less than 2000iu/d for high risk groups is risking being sued for negligence.

We all know perfectly well that each 1000iu raises status 10ng or 25nmol/l.

We all know average UK status is around 50nmol/l and we can all add 50+25=75 and deduce that 1000iu/daily leaves the average UK adult vitamin d deficient and therefore anyone suggesting such a trivial amount needs legal or professional competency action taking against them.

We have to make it absolutely clear the general public are not going to be allowed to continue this flagrant breach of trust. We expect them to put the best interests of patients first and no one can argue that deliberately knowingly keeping people vitamin d deficient is anything other than professional negligence.

for more up to date information in an accessible format you may enjoy the set of video's here If you haven't the time to watch them all (each one's about 40minutes) you may benefit from just looking at the slides used in those presentations.

You know, I had no idea about any of this Ted, must thank you.

Im going to get some capsules for my 28 year old son who has had mildish asthma all his life and hypoglycaemia which I feel has been caused by the steroid inhalers.
