I know it's not very nice and they shouldn't have done it...but it sounds like the person on the phone got the details mixed up and made an honest mistake. I'd just take the money and move on, lifes too short to get bogged down with the small stuff in my view, the person who made the mistake is probably on a rubbish wage and got a family to support themselves.
This gets my vote too. £100 is a nice sum to spend on yourself in compensation for the row you had with your OH. Enjoy it. Move on.

It's Easter weekend. Far more important things going on. Like family, food and spring in the garden. IMO.

Think of all the chocolate eggs you could buy with £100 :EasterBun

It's a horrible thing you have had happen, and the bank will probably have to report this breach of the DPA and take relevant steps to ensure it doesn't happen again.

If you're not happy with the amount, by all means ask for more but don't be surprised if you're refused.

You at least will have £100+ to add to your slush fund, which is certainly better than nothing...

I think as you did not suffer any financial loss as a result of this, you may not be able to claim for compensation under the DPA.
I would agree with GeorgeUK, I would take the £100 and then close my account (if that is possible for you to do). Do post and let us know how you get on :D
