Apples & other fruit in Fridge?

Hi All,

How do you store your Apples and other fruit?

Just been munching on an Apple (trying to avoid chocolate!) which we keep on top of the microwave (in fruit ball) in a typically warm kitchen. I found the apple to lack in taste compared to when we first bought them a couple of days ago!

What fruit to you keep where to maximize their life and taste?

We keep everything but bananas in the fridge. Another option is the porch, which is unheated, and the veg usually go in there

I keep mine in the fridge and use stay fresh bags from lakeland, I find the fruit and veg keep for weeks. I have also used the cushion (2nd link below) and found it to be excellent. Not only does the fruit and veg stay fresh but they really do retain their crispness and flavour.

i hate everyday fruit in the fridge.

only strawberries! thats just me tho!

We keep our fruit and veg in the porch, which is unheated, apart from cabbage, cauliflower, grapes and specific fruit like berries then they are kept in the salad drawer in the fridge.

I keep my fruit and veg in the fridge bar bananas and potatoes and put a little fruit each day into the fruit bowl as i hate cold fruit. It has no taste.
