loan supermarket/PLG Loans

Hi all

New to this site, very informative I must say, so hope am posting in the right place. enquired about unsecured loan through the loan supermarket(credit profile fair to good but not brilliant) they took my details then put me through to plg loans everything ok so far, went through my details again they then said we need to do an identity check I thought fair enough (no credit check at this stage I might add apparently use there own system doesnt involve agencies?), so proceeded they then asked for my debit card details (Alarm bells ringing!!) I asked why? they replied so we can verify your identity (Hmmm I thought! plenty of rip off companies out there suddenly moneys gone out of your account) my question being would that be normal for an ID check asking for card details and has anyone any knowledge of this company have googled and only came up with plg commercial lending.

apoligies if in wrong place but answers would be much appreciated.

Many thanks
