Joint Statement of Affairs?

First off I'd like to say Hi and introduce myself. I don't feel I can say my real name (yet) but I'm in my early 20's, living with my partner and we're up to our eyeballs in debt, but it seems that I've finally had my lightbulb moment.....
Last week my partner lost his rather well paid job, making the hole we're already in even bigger. The only hope we've got at the moment is a possible claim of constructive dismissal with his employer, which is another long story and something else we need to get proper advice on.
I've spoken to the CCCS this morning and gone through our income and expediture after having problems trying to use the web service. I've got an appointment booked with them for 3 weeks time, but I need to draw up a proper statement of affairs, so I can hopefully gets some advice off you guys too.
We've both got several loans/credit cards, some are in individual names, some are in joint names. On the SOA, do I just list everything together? I've also been trying to get information from our creditors about interest rates etc, but a few of our accounts are now in the hands of debt collectors and I'm being referred to them, except when I call none of them are interested in giving me the information, they're just badgering me into making payment arrangements with them?
I'm off to read some more of this site, but if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it

Not sure what CCCS will want. I do my own self-managed dmp and detailed all debts and in whose name(s) they are in for our creditors ditto joint income details as we are tackling the problem to gether even though most debts are mine. No-one has queried this.
Good luck.0 -
Do your SOA using this handy thing - https://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html - follow the instructions on it for MSE and then copy and paste it here. At least the good folks on here will be able to give some advice and maybe help you before you meet with CCCS in 3 weeks' time.
You put your income, their income and all the household expenditure down.
HTH and keep posting.0 -
Thanks both, I'll definitely use that and post it once I've managed to get all the details together Horace. I think the sort of advice I need here as well is how to get our general living costs down, as at the moment we've got a considerable amount of more money going out than coming in and obviously every penny counts and I'm sure I can make some savings somewhere along the line.
There's no way we'd be able to handle it ourselves though, on top of our £88k mortgage, we've got around £45k of unsecured debt between us which we just can't manage anymore, especially now OH has lost his job.:j BSC Supporter 290 :jDreading but looking forward to BR date- 27/10/09 @ 9:30am****No. 1 October 2009 Club*****Previously known as *br* on MSE**0 -
To start off - keep a spending diary so you know what you are spending and where, look at the Moneysaving Oldstyle board for tips on meal planning and bulk cooking.
We will help you make a start and CCCS can help you with the rest.0
