Old vanquis debt help needed :(

Hi all,

I had a vanquis card years ago and it's since been passed through for debt collection.

As far as I was aware I was paying Lowell financial for the debt by direct debit. I've since worked out that I have been paying Scotcall for the same debt :(

Now my biggest issue is that Scotcall claim they are collecting on behalf of CARS / Credit Link who have my payments. Scotcall stated that CARS / Credit link own the debt.

Lowell say that they own the debt and they will send me proof of this, meanwhile Vanquis say that Caveat Emptor own the debt. I called Caveat and they dont own it at all, they don't even know me.

Vanquis meanwhile don't want to know at all and just repeatedly tell me to call Caveat.

so situation now is that Lowell want me for legal proceedings as do scotcall and I have paid Scotcall £45 which has dissapeared and no one claims they have it....

This is so confusing that I have probably missed details but any advice is welcome please

Thanks

Sez

Start by sending a CCa request to Lowell and that will identify whether they have the legal right to collect the debt. Do this fo anyone else who contacts you aboout it.

They cannot take legal action without a legally compliant CCA.

Sorry, what is a CCa request?

actually for the sake of a £1 each i would CCA each of the DCA's and stop paying either until this is sorted out.

I would also be inclined to ask for a full statement from each identifying what payments have been made.
