Follow up letter after interview?

Just had an interview, and felt it went well, they aren't finalising today, so should I send a follow up letter? I love the place and the job, and really want to come across well. It is an education post.

I had an interview last week and sent a 'thank you' letter afterwards. I got a second interview and the letter was commented on really positively - I don't think they get them often. I'd definitely send a letter, especially if it's a job you're really keen on.
  • Some people like them because it shows willing, and forward thinking, and some don't like them, they see it as a desperate attempt to get the job.
I would say in this case it is totally up to you, only you can go on the vibes you got from the interview.

Can't decide what to do now... I would just really like to send something as it was so positiveand want to say thank you, but not if it just makes me look desperate :(

Normally if you an interview and it has gone particularly well and you have enjoyed it and felt you have made a good impression you can send the employer a thank you letter, saying I enjoyed meeting with you, lovely company, blah, blah or these days send a thank you email. To keep it customary send a thank you letter but normally need to send it within 1/2 days max after the date interview.

Not to rain on your parade but most educational establishments confirm in writing if you don't receive a follow-up letter in the next 1/3 days it more than likely you haven’t got the job, and it will be an unsuccessful but thank for applying letter (Sorry just thought I should mention that!)

    Goodluck in any-case.

They are phoning around tomorrow to let us know...

Maybe I shouldn't then, I just thought that it was a nice thing to do to say that I appreciated them taking time to talk to me, especially when it is an area f work I would really like to work in:confused:
