In Ancient Greece, you didn't get paid for being a politician, you had to be a man of means (your own means) and be old enough and educated enough o have gathered wisdom. That's Democracy.

No you wouldn't! Even the most prudent MP claims almost £50k. Unless you are thinking about kipping with Brian Haw, you'd be doing the job for almost nowt, or less.

I think a good team of MSEers should be in charge of 'checking' MP's expenses, nothing will get past us!!

They can all use the tube or bus
They can all travel economy class on planes
etc

I'm going to head the team up!!

If they're paying out of their own pocket, they can travel by horse drawn limousine for all I care. But they're not, they're travelling by easyjet and claiming for concorde!
