Let go and now pay is delayed!!!

Hi
Long story short I got let go from my job last thurs 1645pm (I finished at 1630) anyway it's a very small company. Getting paid involves both directors going into the bank and either (if you're with the same bank) transferring it, or (if not) then taking the cash out and putting it in your account.
Well she (the operations director - who they kidding they're a couple) tells me on the phone today - "there's a chance I can't pay you til tomorrow as he is not back from ... and it needs to signatures". I have DDs my payplan has gone but I still have bills to pay - thankfully mortgage as well has been paid, but I burst into tears after getting off the phone. I told her "I have DDs that will bounce" her solution was to cancel them and reinstate them- oh and that the money will be in my 0900 tomorrow! Trouble is I agreed to let her put the money in my old account (nothing to do with debt but is same bank) to enable smoothness of the transaction - the DD's are coming out of mine and DH joint account.

I know this sounds like a rant but there is one DD I can't cancel for £110 as it's not been taken yet so not showing on my account. ARGGGHHH I am so upset and nervous that if I push I won't get paid at all.

Pip
xx

  • She'd still need his signature as they're joint signaturories>? Making matters more annoying is offer letter stated 1 mth notice by either party (she claims contract says 1wk - never had contract). So I got 1 weeks notice!!

    Hi

Wait until you have been paid then contact ACAS. Not giving you a contract is naughty and I suspect your offer letter would be the valid.
