McDonalds peel and win £500K

My son went on a school trip today and had a McD's for lunch (something we wouldn't usually do) and on his peel & win thingy he got Park Lane, which is one half of the £500k cash prize, now as we would never usually eat in McD's, the chances of us actually winning are zero, but it got me thinking are there actually any Mayfairs out there, or is it all a big ploy, have people actually ever won anything on offers like this???!!!???
Would be nice though wouldn't it, even half of that would clear my debts, get me a newish car and more importantly get us on the housing ladder that is way beyond our reach...............aaaahhhh dreams!

I think this all the time, just like the competitions on crisps, coffee etc for big money prizes.
I have never heard of anyone actually winning either
