in Cutting tax
I'm due to move in an apartment say in August 09.
I have graduated and have a job. My friend I will live with is still at Uni.
What council tax will I pay. He wouldn't have to pay any right? Can I get the discount for effectively "living alone?"
Thanks for the help!

You would be the liable person (the person who pays) and your friend would be disregarded providing he meets the full time student criteria. If you were the only other occupier of the property you would receive a 25% discount.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
