Our creditors are ignoring our pro rata offers

We sent all 9 of our creditors a letter on 16th March offering pro-rata payments.
Sainsburys - no reply and our payment is late (what's this about? they're usually on the phone BEFORE the payment is due making sure we will pay on time!)
Littlewoods - no reply
British Gas - told us payments are too low but told us to pay what we can afford anyway (er? WE DID!)
Scotcall - Sorted - DD set up
Blair, Oliver and Scott - Sorted - Standing order set up
Clode - ignoring us
Halifax - ignoring us
MBNA - we phoned them and they said the payment has been rejected - we requested this in writing but have not received it - What do we do now?
GE Money - ignored us
What shall we do now?
Also, we are VERY aware that we shouldn't give DCA our debit card details and we haven't - we've set up DD/SO's instead but how do we pay the others (the ones we haven't set up DD or SO's for?)
If anyone could offer advice we would appreciate it,..... it's driving me a bit mad !

How would you normally pay the others? Do you get a paper bill with a paying in slip?
My advice would be just to send the pro rata payments anyway. In my experience as long as you send something it is way better than sending nothing. How about a cheque with your account number on the back sent to their accounts dept with a covering letter?0 -
Thank you for your advice.0

Yep, don't give up with them. They do take a bit of time to respond and in the meantime will try and bully you into paying more. Don't buckle under the pressure and keep paying what you can afford however little.
You could always set up a Standing Order - that way YOU are in control of the payments and not them?Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Hi ,I did that at first, offered pro rata to all 8 CC, all ignored. ~I was advised by sainsburys that if i went through CCCS or Payplan, they would be more inclined to listen and accept.....I am doing this now and so far 3/8 have accepted. i am only in first few weeks of DMP. Therefore if you contact one of these FREE agencies they will help you.........good luck0

Are you doing this all yourself? I went through CCCS years ago and they were unbelievably good, took all the hassle out of it completely. Plus as soon as your creditors know they are dealing with the CCCS they usually take your offers a lot more seriously.0

Yup, send what you can (or at least £1 token payments if this is the first month), it shows that you are willing to pay which will reflect well on you later.

Hi 50broke - thank you for your reply.
Is CCCS/Payplan a DMP?
We can't go on a DMP because our circumstances are due to change within the next 6 months (I return to work, we pay more for childcare, annual pay rise (pennies!) for my husband) - we would if we could cos it would be a lot easier but for now we're on our own.....
Thanks for your advice - it all helps when I just feel like selling my furniture to pay off stupid bloody debt.... (have spat dummy out now and feel much better!)0 -
50broke, great minds think alike and all that! Good luck with your DMP it is great when everything is sorted and you can just make your one payment to CCCS knowing everything else is done for you.0

Just keeping paying the pro-rata offers, standing order is the best way so you've got a record of the payments you've sent and they can't alter the amounts.
We didn't hear from some creditors for a few months but they took the money and contacted us eventually. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Thank you all so much for tour advice. Will sleep a bit easier tonight - now if someone could make me a cup of tea and do the dishes it'd be perfect!0
