Do I need a veil?

Hi everyone, just a quick question. We are having a late afternoon civil ceremony in a hotel and I was wondering if I really need a veil. I'm not overly keen on them, but should I have one because it's tradition or not? i was thinking of just having a tiara or a fascinator instead. Any opinions are welcome, Tiger x

I am not having a veil as when I put my hair up you have to have the veil hanging low below you hair up bit (if that makes sense!) I think this looks daft, if I was having my hair down I would have one.
I am just having a sparkly tiara xLoves Vegas shopping and beauty products!0 -
It's your day, you have whatever you want and whatever you feel comfortable with!0

Have whatever you want, whatever you're comfortable with and what suits you. Whether it's jeans and tshirt or a fancy big wedding dress complete with a veil and trimmings, it does not matter at all.
I'm not having a veil, thought it would look too fussy with my dress.Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

I'm not having a veil. I'd feel a bit daft with one tbh, just not my thing. I'm having a tiara with diamonte skulls instead!0

I didn't think I would want a veil (civil ceremony like you) but when the sales assistant put one on me it looked amazing! There is no way I will take it off even in the evening now!!

Hi Angela, your pic is beautiful. I think my mind is now made up to just having a crystal something or other in my hair and no veil, my theme is burgundy and crystal so will fit perfectly. I didn't have a veil. I bought a hairband with fake pearls on from Accesorize to hold my hair back and that was it.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
