Macbook!

Hello,

I am a 15 year old and with my current laptop not working properly running most software, I have decided to save for a Macbook.

With this, I am going to need to save up. I have plenty of money in the bank but want to try and keep it in there. My goal is to buy the Macbook before/just after Christmas. At the moment, I have around 100 GBP.

What can I do to try and save to reach the target of buying the Macbook? I have checked and all of the paper rounds are taken in my town. I currently receive 30~ GBP per month for pocket money.

When are you 16? You could get a weekend job somewhere then. Or even now? Like a shop or restaurant?

I am not 16 until next year and have already tried the local shops and they don't want anyone in the current economic times. Only people who know the owners can get the job.

Have you tried any chains? Supermarkets? Do you really want a job? Because if you don't, you won't get one. Make a CV up (help can be found on google) to hand out if people don't have vacancies at the moment.

I have contacted the services at the school. I also have a Cv and contacted various businesses in the area. If I do well in my work experience I could possibly work in the offices there but it is about 20 minutes away and the buses don't run during the week there.

What about doing odd jobs for friends and neighbours. How are you at gardening? What about the odd weeding, pruning and planting. Nothing too strenuous or anything that would alarm health & saftey. Something that could be done at weekends perhaps.

That's a good idea but I already do some housework and odd jobs for an elderly neighbour. I was just wondering if there was anything else that I could do?

Also when you buy the macbook, check out http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/education_routing/ as you get student discount on the Apple site! I'm not sure how much discount you get at college, but through using that link on the university campus I got 14% discount :)

Thanks, I have already tried that but turns out that it is cheaper on Amazon anyway. I might go into the shop and see how much I can get thrown in though as I am quite interested in a good case, iwork 09 and other stuff too.

Have you got anything that you are willing to flog? Stuff that you don't need anymore or that is stuffed away in the cupboard. Have a go at selling online it may not be a lot but it all helps.
