Northern Rock alleged mortgage arrears!

Hi All

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or on the mortgages section.

We are disputing arrears with Northern Rock and they have advised that they would stop all phone calls whilst this is investigated.

We have today, received a standard letter asking us to pay the arrears in full. I contacted them to see if these could be stopped too but was advised that the FSA guidelines state that these have to be sent.

I am awaiting a call back from the FSA but wondered if anyone could help with this?

Thank you!

Hi - I am in the process of disputing the arrears but I need to know whether they have to send me these letters according to FSA guidelines or if they can stop them as they have with the phone calls.

I suspect they may have to send these letters as they need to provide an audit trail for future use. Mortgage arrears are a secured debt so they need to show how and when they have contacted you re the debt to justify any future action.

I'm only guessing but i suspect that may well be the case.

hi why not try the FOS they have been very good because i have a simular situation but mine ihad an accident . claim through the internet it will not stop them going to court as these type of providers are unjustified by the courts and if you aretaken to court the courts will not do any thing while thefos investagates the problem . plus it does not cost any money plus get cab services involved and cccs these services carry a lot of wieght in court
