Tax 603L Week 1 help

Hi
I've been working at a company now for 10 months now and intally put on the BR tax code, after a couple of months and ticking several boxes i was taken off that and my tax refunded. Now i'm on 603L WK1 tax code and don't know how the tax system works. I get roughly 710 pound a month before tax (depending on overtime etc..) and deducted roughly 50 pounds tax a month. Over the year i have had a gross pay of 6800 pounds and paid 270 pound tax. I know i've gone over the threshold but am i still entitled to a refund because of the wk1 tax code? thanks for your time

You are on emergency code, but as we are now at the end of the tax year, it is too late to sort this out now. You will need to wait until you get your P60 in April and send it to your tax office with a covering letter setting out all your jobs for the tax year. they will make your refund.
You will not be on E code from the start of the new tax year on Monday.

This seems a little strange, if you have received a refund this would suggest that you had been put on a cumulative code. If you have since been put onto a week 1 code was this done by the tax office, if so do you know why?
To work out your tax position can you advise if you had any taxable income before starting this job if so how much and what tax if any was paid, does the 6800 you mention include any this previous gross or is it just gross from your current job, and what tax month number was on the payslip with the 6800 earnings on it? If month number is not quoted on what date was the payment made?
