    It is good advice.

I've saved circa £50k so far. I'm now at the point whereby i think rather than consider using any of this as a deposit, I should carry on saving, and in a few years probably could buy a house outright. (Yorkshire)

I earn just short of £24k. I realise this is not realistic for everyone, and I have no dependents to look after, but it is possible.

Keep it up Uncle Rico, it is admirable indeed. There is someone else on the forum who has done similar that has £150k+ saved by doing what you are doing.

Good luck and thanks OP for updating the thread, good work on managing your debts.

Yeah im going to save £150,000 to buy a house. Good advice.
Well if you search my posts you will find i have just paid 180k cash for a house..and 30k for a car....it can be done..but it took me until i was 40
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
