When added up, total is £339.20 for 2 people (in the £98 cabin). Ryanair flight from Oslo (Torp - wherever that is in relation to port) to UK for us would be £249 each (one way that is)! Then whatever taxi fares getting from port to airport and airport to home.

Sounded great 'til I started adding it all up:-(

Der! Stupid me - didn't realise Ryan air flights were quoted in Krona! So yes, makes flights £25:mad:

Torp is very far from oslo itself. Don't forget Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world. I wouldnt be getting a taxi.... It maybe cheaper flying out of oslo airport instead of Torp, even if the flights are more expensive.

I would love to go but I dont have enough holiday days from work left :(

Sounds like its a repositioning trip - great value. Passed on to mum and dad as they're P&O Cruisers so could be a great taster for RC

    Thanks OP :)

Can I just say, from the docs to the train station is walking distance (ish) and then it's a very luxurious train ride direct to the airport, so don't be put off by the distance.

what 4 nights? from the UK ? and for £98 ?! :rotfl:

Funnily enough, my best money-saving event was a cruise a couple of years back.
The Daily Express were offering guaranteed cruise for £10 if 60 vouchers were collected from the paper. I collected the vouchers -this was the worst bit in case anyone saw me with the Daily Express - and sure enough I got the cruise for £10. It included return flights to Gerona, a cabin all to myself and luxury food. The cruise ship stopped somewhere different every day Tunis, Naples, Malta, Majorca etc.

I had a rattlin' good time, and even considering the expensive drinks, my bar bill was less than £100 for the week.

    It can be done!

Wonder if I could trust the kids to behave on their own. It is our wedding anniversary in April and would make a lovely break away.

Just a word of warning.........My parents went on a cruise when I was 17, and when they got back the house was spotless.Thats because we had a party, and our friends mum had to come and wash the carpets with her carpet cleaner to stop us being killed by dad:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I appreciate Each and Every win. I thank every comp poster from the bottom of my heart :A

True Rachie, but on that particular promotion some lucky devils did end up with a Caribbean cruise. I was a touch envious but, believe me, I was over the moon with my journey round the med.

As I said, this was the best bit of MSE stuff that I have managed but I live in hope of another one. This week I have managed to book a flight to Spain via Ruinair for £10 return including all taxes and charges - even paid by electron so the bill was exactly £10. I have just checked Ruinair and there are still available.
