IVA or Bankruptcy?

Hi

I have personal debt which I can just about keep on top of for the moment. I also have some debt which has recently come to me from a business I used to be involved in. This debt I can't pay, it is going to push me over the limit.
My question is should I go through an IVA or Bankruptcy as I want to keep my house? I have equity in my house but my mortgage lender won't lend me any more money to pay my debts? What should I do?

How much equity? Is anyone else entitled to a portion of it? (partner etc.....).

  • The equity is around 20 grand and the debt is 15. Problem is if I can up my mortgage I'm not sure if I could afford that?

My partner is entitled to a portion of the equity but she also was involved in the business that ran up the debts?
