Hi there, I know you are probably a bit overwhelmed by everything, it's hard at the beginning, the best advice I can give you is to take it one step at a time. As for your children, you have a lovely home near a good school which isn't at risk (at least you're not sitting on 40k negative equity like some people). Kids don't really need a lot to be happy - if you asked them they would probably prefer to spend time with you playing a game than spending money at the shops. You will come through for them - hey that's what we do isn't it? Tomorrow is another day, keep the positive vibes - I've found having no money makes life a lot more simple and in some ways happier - life doesn't end when you're in debt, it just changes.

P.S. in serious danger of sounding like a Hallmark card - which gives me an idea. A new range of cards for the people in debt,

"You may be Bankrupt - but you beat the Banks!",
    "Whats an IVA between friends?",
"A DMPs for ages not just for Christmas".

What do you think - the answer to all our problems??

Flipped - are you on a meter for your water? We're on South West Water too but that still seems high.

Yes, on a meter, but in my old house we weren't and that was still £59.50.. We are in a 4 bed house so don't know if that makes a difference?

When does the meter get read? There have been accounts of meters installed but not read.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
