What does the above mean?
Haven't posted in ages and have pretty much failed in the challenge now for the first 5 months this year . The only positive thing is my saving are still moving in the right direction but not as fast as I wished. Also haven't really had time to catch up with the posts, but try to do that hopefully over the weekend.
I think I'll take a break, gather my thoughts for a while  and maybe hop on the wagon again in July for a personal remaining 6 months challenge, if that's ok with you. Otherwise I'll probably completely give upwhich I really don't want to do, but I just didn't have the determination recently. I'll still try to get my numbers together and might post them at the end of May. Hope all is well, speak soon....
Hi Thriftylass,
There was a rogue poster on earlier who was advertising something they sell, so Nyk reported the post to someone who could remove it from the thread. Nice to see you back on again. xx0 -

Already on the list. I love that, especially done into chicken fried rice or, better still, special fried rice - yum!Tastes lovely with sweet & sour sauce or curry sauce, too.

Sorry, missed this - coddled are like the opposite of hard boiled, they are very, very soft and runny. They can be done in their shells in a pot of water, done in a microwave or else cooked the same way you would melt chocolate in a covered bowl over the top of hot water.I reserve the right not to spend.

Perhaps I'm thinking of my O Level, I expect I'm mixed up. By chance I'm seeing the ex chief examiner at the weekend - I'll see if she has copies.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
Evening peeps (I only seem to post really late these days)
Nyk - I must have missed the spam. Why not make spam fritters with your "100 eggs"? Or corned beef hash.
Bbox/SL/BB - eggy bread is lovely, we have it whenwe're running out of food
sft - exciting!! I hope the move goes smoothly.
LL/LJ - I did O Level Home Ec in 1986 and I can't remember a single thing, except that I passed :T
My budget is blown sky high, but it's better than if i wasn't keeping an eye on it, which is what I think the challenge is about. I did spend nearly £100 on an online Mr S shop yesterday, but they did email me a £10 voucher, so it was rude not to use it. I have tracked how much I've spent on food this year and I've spent over £30 on tinned tomatoes alone!! I'll be glad when my tomato plants kick in.

Good morning frugals and guys
Purplevamp - £30 on tinned tomatoes this year already? Are you buying the premium brands and eating them every day or do you have a cupboard stacked full of them? Re the fritters, I don't own a deef fat fryer and I don't like Spam. But I love pineapple fritters and banana fritters, which I can manage to make in the frying pan. I also love potato fritters with brown sauce on a roll like we used to get from chippie at lunchtimes back in the school days. Have never tried to make them in a frying pan, though I'm sure they'd work if I part cooked the potatoes first?
Aeb, glad to see you back with us and to hear that things are going alright with you.
Going to make some more lemon curd as my frugal deed of the day to use up the yokes left over from yesterday's meringues. I'm giving up saying that I'll spend X amount of time doing housework and/or accounts because it just never works out that way. Each eventually gets done, so I guess that's all that matters.
My mum's planning a visit in a couple of weeks, so that means I can get an order into Tesc0 and have it delivered to her address so she can bring it with her. That will be a great help as I'll can stock up on all the stuff I can't get at decent prices about here. :T I'll also be able to use up my Clubcard vouchers. I was a bit upset at all the money off ones expiring before I could get the chance to use them.
Have a good day, everyone.I reserve the right not to spend.

Nyk - where did you get your lemon curd recipe from please? And do you think it would work with limes instead?
I looooooove Lime Curd, but in recent years (last 10!) it's become nigh on impossible to buy anyLast time I saw it on sale was on a specialist cheese stall on a market (in the run up to Christmas 2005), and it was over £2 a 454g jar

Hi, just poppin in as i am enjoying the egg ideas. Just wondered if we could do one for potatoes, most of my meals have either pots or pasta and i get fed up racking my brains for ideas.
