Finalist to Win A Trip To Thailand... advice please...

And got this email to confirm id made it to the final

Thank you for your interest in our Mekhong Rum Competition.

I am pleased to inform you that your application has made it to the
finals to be held here at the Blue Elephant on Friday the 3rd of April.

Please be informed of the following matters:

• All contestants to arrive promptly at 12.00 AM
• You are required to bring all your own bar equipment with you
• We can provide basic bar equipment like stirrers, shakers, and ice.
• Please let us know in advance if there are any items of equipment
from the Blue Elephant you would like to use.

The competition will commence at 1PM.

Please let us know as soon as possible you confirmation of acceptance.
If we don’t hear from you by Wednesday the 1st of April 2009, your
place in the finals will be given away.

Now, i live approx Distance: 149.19 miles, about 3 hours 19 mins according to AA route finder, and will have to take a day off work for this. Im really unsure on whether to go or not.... what would you guys do????

Congrats on making the final, personally I would try and make a day of it, go and have some fun,(hat a great excuse for a day off work!!) and you have a great chance of winning the prize, and no chance if you don't go!

I think if you really want the prize you should go - remember other finalists will have had this email and I suspect quite a few of them might not turn up, which would increase your chance of winning!:money:

I think it's worth a shot- it's got to be an experience that you wouldn't otherwise have- enjoy it and good luck if you decide to go.

I won a similar competition last year (britains best bbq'er) and then to my dismay found out I would have to travel from cardiff to brixton to go into the finals (cooking on a bbq in front of millions Lol) anyway I was umming wether to go or not now im glad I did, I never won but had such a fab day I took my sister her boyfriend and my eldest daughter we were well looked after I come forth but had already won a luxury gas bbq from winning my heat so was happy with that and enjoyed the whole expirience of it
I rekon you should go and just have fun if you win thats a bonus xx good luck

I had a email from this comp saying ' the judges were very impressed with my cocktail, would i accept a voucher for a free bottle of house champagne to use at the Blue Elephant' but i also live quite far away - not sure what i should do. Maybe the could post the bottle to me

I think you should go for it!
The schools break up on the 3rd so that may prevent some other finalists from going.
Have you actually tried your cocktail though?!
