Northern Rock repayment holidays for maternity leave

As long as I don't screw up any mortgage repayments from now until November, Northern Rock had told me I can have up to a year off of my mortgage repayments as I am having a second baby. I am aware that the interest will be due on the 'missed payments' but am willing to fund this as the money I can save over this holiday year will wipe the rest of our debts out and make us debt free in 1.5 years from today. Has anyone had experience of this long repayment holiday? I had acceptance granted for the same thing when pregnant with my first child but due to bereavement and financial problems, we missed a mortgage payment by a couple of days past their 'limit' and it got put down as missed rather than late (IYSWIM). This meant we were declined it the first time. Has anyone had any problems getting it and likewise has anyone found it a really simple process?
Thanks in advance for your help.
