You need to think of ways of clearing your debt rather than transferring it to a loan.Credit search would look shocking with the searches and history of late payments especially in this current climate.0

give her a break everyone.
you don't really know her situation to judge - she's on a £16K wage, yeah but she says the most she can afford is £240.00, PLUS, living in her own place, she'll cut down on an awful lot of spending.
fortunately, i don't have any debt however, it's still very difficult for me to get credit due to not having any!
i too was stupid enough to go to best4loans - a company that guaranteed a loan, even for those with ccj's ect, ect. totally ripped off!
i'm browsing too, trying to find a decent, genuine company that'll be willing to help.
doesn't seem like i'm getting anywhere! and with responses like these, it puts even more doubt in your mind!
good luck chick x0 -
I would think about waiting for 6 months or so for the recent searches to become less imprtant before applying for anything else. Good luck getting sorted.Got Halifax Classic to reduce my interest rate by 5% woohoo - 10/06/08 Thanks MSE!
Another 3% shaved off 10/12/08

Could you not try Zopa?
As long as you don't have any CCJs? Your income is above the threshold so that should be fine.
I believe they do a credit search but not the type which actually harms your credit score until you have received a quotation.
If this gets rejected you could always look towards the listings on zopa. Perhaps ask for a loan of just £1250 to pay off your catalogues and credit card (presuming the APRs on these would be higher than the loan) and then save up for the rental deposit?0
