  • Use paper plates - pierce them and knot strings or ribbons to tie them on. Then the children can paint some flowers on, or you could have paper flower shapes for them to stick on.

I helped my 6 year old make this one today in an hour or so:

We used a 50p charity shop hat, stuck cut-up blue plastic bags around the rim for water, a brown bag and string for the nest and stuck on plastic toy ducks for decoration.

  • home bargains have make ur own bonnet kits for £2.99 too, a straw hat with bows and stuff to stick on :)
  • I saw easter bonnets ready to be decorated in the Pound Shop at the weekend.

Failing that - I would go with the paper plate idea - or even get those paper jelly bowls and stick them to the paper plate - then decorate.

Yep, quite good they are too! We got one for 1 boy and 1 for 1 girl. 1 comes with a straw hat the other a straw cap and have loads of sticky things to make your own unique design.

    A bargain at £2.99!
