RBS keeps taking the wrong amount

I have an RBS mortgage.
They have written to me over the past few months to say that my payments have changed due to the interest reduction.
They NEVER take the amount they have written to me about.
This month they wrote to say 802.89 and actually took 819.83
Feb they wrote 802.89 and then took 822.48
Jan they wrote 836.51 and took 856.12.
Is there ever a time that this should happen, have I missed something very obvious to someone else?

It seems they always take £19.61 extra, are you sure there arn't any fee's taken with the mortgage like PPI or Buildings Insurance?0 -
No it is the mortgage alone, nothing else, nothing signed for.
When the mortgage was first taken out last March the amount on the paperwork was the amount that was taken. Since then I have made 6000 in overpayments (which I am allowed to do without any fees/charges) and then there are the interest reductions.
I pay buildings insurance seperately, also RBS which was sorted at the time we took out the mortgage.
As for PPI (had to look it up first) no we dont have that, so it wont be for that.0 -

I would approach them, and ask them why they are overcharging you, it could be a genuine mistake or it could just be a hidden charge you were not aware of.0 -
I have written to them and will fax it through tomorrow. As I live in the Middle East it will be a couple of weeks before I hear anything.
The reason i have left this a while is simply the mail takes a while to get here so our notification of new payments after the interest reductions always takes time to catch up. Since RBS havent reduced with the last BoE change I know there are no more letters in the post to complicate matters.
Thanks0 -

If you trust somebody in the UK you could always use them as a proxy address, they could open your letters scan them and email them to you or fax them. This would greatly decrease your information update times.
Glad to be of help thanks.0 -
Yes we did originally do that, but then it gets out of control, sooner or later the person that is looking out for your interests is bombarded with completely useless junk mail or one kind or another.
I think another one of the reasons we stopped doing that was the initial thing of being out of the country for a year or two ran into 22 and it seemed a little excessive.0 -

Only one month out of three was the extra amount taken £19.61 so I would not call that "always"................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
True my mistake, £16.94, £19.59, £19.610

Nit picking0 -
You may say that if you wish.
I, on the other hand, still think that if three numbers are in fact all different it is not appropriate to assert that they are all the same and then deduce a conclusion which is based on the fact that they are all the same................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0
