Anyone else in the mood for a makeover or feeling a bit stuck in a rut?
Im finishing uni soon and so trying to get out of the typical student look!
I have made a list of things i want to 'sort out' so to speak and wondering if anyone has any cheap (true mse) remedies
my complaints atm are
1) loose some weight - already lost 14lbs doing atkins on this thread
2) do my own nails- looking at investing in a diy acrylic
3) tan- im using johnsons holiday skin atm got a few new bottles at a boot sale for 50p each
4) stretch marks ????
5) hair is my biggest complaint currently growing out my colour and trying to strengthen it atm from where i have coloured it so much in the past - i have an addiction so im using virgin coconut oil and leaving it on over night (def makes it more shiny and less flyaway) also fighting the urge to go blonde!
other bits are
6) whiter teeth
7) get rid of the red bumps on tops of my arms
8) ingrown hair probs (just bought some tendskin so will report back if anyones interested in the results)
9) generally using up loads of products i have lying around! bit of a hoarder
feel free to ignore if you feel this is a load of vain rubbish! but i have looked the same way for years so i fancy a change- anyone have any things they think will make a big change?:j

I have made a list of things i want to 'sort out' so to speak and wondering if anyone has any cheap (true mse) remedies

1) loose some weight - already lost 14lbs doing atkins on this thread well done
2) do my own nails- looking at investing in a diy acrylic Noooo! Just grow & look after your real nails. They can look wonderful. If you still have a boots no 7 voucher lurking it needs spending today. Treat yourself to a new nail varnish for £1.10
3) tan- im using johnsons holiday skin atm got a few new bottles at a boot sale for 50p each
4) stretch marks ???? I have lots (thanks children), I can tell you they do fade. They never disappear though. Learn to love them, as they are part of you
Moisturise - lots - with anything. Good way to finish up your products. Once used up, use oil. I use either bio oil, or sweet almond oil.
5) hair is my biggest complaint currently growing out my colour and trying to strengthen it atm from where i have coloured it so much in the past - i have an addiction so im using virgin coconut oil and leaving it on over night (def makes it more shiny and less flyaway) also fighting the urge to go blonde!
other bits are
6) whiter teeth ask your dentist
7) get rid of the red bumps on tops of my arms exfoliate then moisturise
8) ingrown hair probs (just bought some tendskin so will report back if anyones interested in the results) exfoliate then moisturise
9) generally using up loads of products i have lying around! bit of a hoarder see above

No real problems but need to stop buying products I am addicted to trying any new beauty product, though my problem is they are not the cheap end!
I would like to sort out my teeth as they are not as white as I would like!
So I have been flossing everyday and I love it, I know this sounds weird!Loves Vegas shopping and beauty products!0 -
I could do with a makeover MSE style!
I'm going to try and make an effort to look after my hands with diy manicures, and put handcream on every day! Trouble is my skin is absurdly sensitive, and will not tolerate normal handcreams, only expensive, natural/organic brands! I did start using a handcream that someone gave me in a giftset for xmas, but it gave me exzema (sp?!). So I will have to buy some more expensive stuff, which is usually in the region of £8-£10 a tube. No wonder I've been neglecting my poor hands!0 -

Why not try olive oil before commiting to £8? I used to suffer from horrendous exczema and found a light drizzle in the bath followed with a bit more rubbed into damp skin did the trick all over my body.0 -
been experimenting with natural coconut oil on my hair as did a bit of research on the net and indian women traditionally use it as well as some of the other middle eastern countries- so i got a tub from holland and barrett, heat it between my hands evenly coat my hair and sleep with it in. i tried it for a few hours before this and found when i washed it out it make my hair feel stringy?! if that makes sense and i couldnt brush it without conditioning first- so thats how i got round to leaving in on over night and i think the heat whilst sleeping helps work it 'in'
and so far it works the same if not better than any other hair mask, deep conditioning treatment bla bla bla you girlies know what i mean.....and i have tried A LOT lol.
it lasts until the next time i do it and the more i do it the better my hair gets so i will defo keep going - not too glam walking round with it on but it smells lot nicer than olive oil which i also tried.
( i have fine, wavy, past the bottom of my bra hair which is currently 1/2 coloured as im growing it out! wish it would hurry up!
next thing is to grow my nails naturally - no nasty acrylics so hunted round and found that o.p.i nail envy had really good reviews so will wait till that arrives
annnnnd ordered some castor oil to try oil cleansing method so lots of things to play with, bf does not understand my obsession! ie- watching make up and product reviews on youtube (is that sad?)keep calm and carry on :rotfl:

I think youd feel much better about your hair if you dyed it the colour of your roots there's nothing worse than two tone hair!
How much does the coconut stuff cost from holland & barret? migt get some. Also what's the caster oil for?
Im sure i read somewhere that if you soak your nails in olive oil it toughens them up but dont quote me!0
