Acceptance letters from creditors

Today we've received two letters from creditors saying they have accepted our offer of full and final settlement which is great news but we're worried that the letters don't say all that they should and that there may be loop holes we're not aware of. Can anyone tell us what the creditors should say in these letters in order for us to be sure we can can send the cheque and it all will all go away!? Both letters say they accept our offer in full and final settlement of the debt and give us dates by which we need to pay. But neither letter says they will adjust our credit rating to say the debt has been satisfied in full. Should they say anything else???
Also, is there anything we should write in reply to these letters or is it ok to just send cheque?
Thanks,

Would you be able to post exactly what they say?Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

First one from private letting agency says...
'further to your letter I confirm that your offer to settle the outstanding debt of **** in respect of rent owed for the above property with a payment of **** in full and final settlement is acceptable.
Once the payment is received we will consider your account has been settled in full.'
Second one is from Aktiv Kapital in respect to a bank overdraft...
'We refer to our recent telephone conversation.
It was agreed that we would accept the sum of **** in full settlement of the debt, it is important that payment is made in accordance with the terms set out below:
payment 1 due date: 30/04/2009 £****'
With regards to the second one, there was NO telephone conversation, only a letter sent by us which is a little strange. Any help much apprecitated.

You're right to be a little suspicious of AK.
While I can only interpret 'full settlement' one way, and I would hope that any court would do likewise, you may want a fuller statement before you part with cash.
Is their letter headed WITHOUT PREJUDICE?
Do they say how they will mark your credit file? (The letting agency probably doesn't report to CRAs)0
