Eek i broke my cake....
silly thing wouldn't come out of the tin, now i have hundreds of "bit's" of cake.. *sigh* ... it tastes yummy but it's just in 100's of bits waay to make to glue back together.
Anyone got any idea's what i can do with it??? i don't really want to throw it away and start again, it wasn't for anything special just family eating but the kids and hubby will laugh at me if i tell them to help themselves to "a bit of cake" ...
*sigh* why is it no matter how hard i try things litterally fall apart?

how about making some choc sauce or custard and having it as pudding?
you could use it to make chocolate truffles - think i used to use apricot jam or marmalade melted with some choc. mix it all together then coat them in cocoa!it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:0 -
Sounds like a trifle to me!!
In fact, better than that, a chocolate trifle! (Very nice with banana.....sort of banoffee trifle!)

what sort of jelly would you use for that?? or am i being dumb?0 -
Orange jelly is lovely with chocolate trifle. If making it for grown ups we either add some Grand Marnier or brandy to the chocolate cake. Top all off with chocolate custard then whipped cream and chocolate shavings - absolutely gorgeous!"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"

In a similar situation I made Black Forest Trifle - it was going to be my late Dad's favourite Black Forest gateaux. Black cherry jelly, tin of cherry pie filling, the failed cake. Chocolate custard and whipped cream with a few reserved cherries as decoration.0

I wouldn't use jelly at all I don't think. My MIL makes a glorious chocolate trifle where she tops the cake off with chocolate mousse, then pipes cream on the top. You could use cake and banana, top with chocolate custard (Just add a spoonful or two of cocoa to your regular custard) and then add toffee sauce on the top to make it banoffee style.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I make individual deserts in glasses out of whatever bits and bobs we have to hand, cake, biscuit crumbs, stewed apple or other fresh or dried fruit, greek yogurt, fromage fresh, ice cream and just do layers. Your chocolate cake would be perfect.
Also what about a Tiramisu - soak choc cake layer in strong coffee and booze, then cocoa powder sieved on and cover with mascapone cheese. Could make individual portions and freeze or fill an ice cream carton and freeze a family sized desert for another day.
A layer of your cake crumbs would make a wonderful base under a lemon or chocolate mouse. Very easy choc mouse from 100g chocloate melted, add gelatine and then fold into a tin of whipped evapourated milk. Gorgeous!
This is an opportunity!0
