We have a freeview box we bought a year ago and a few days ago our transmitter was hit by lightening - since then BBC1, BBC2, ITV C4 are rubbish. Analogue tv is actually ok.

Interesting, what part of the country are you in? This has been going on for a few weeks, before Christmas but comes and goes. Sometimes it gets so bad you have to put regular telly back on, or there is no picture at all. I would just like to know, before we splash out on some kind on new (secondhand) box

Which channels are rubbish in all? From what you've said all the following should be not working:

    BBC One
    BBC Two
    BBC Three
    CBBC Channel
    BBC News 24
    ITV 1
    ITV 2
    ITV 3
    Channel 4

Your ondigital box is yours to keep so don't believe anyone who tells you other wise unless its stolen.

Also anyone who signed up to Power Gen in November would have received a Voucher to get a free box from Curries although they were out of stock, they said they would give me a different one if it remained unavailable after two weeks, I have my promise in writing from the store. ;)

You can also get you hands on a Sky Digital Satellite Dish and buy the Sky yellow card on Ebay you then not only recieve Freeview but numorous other channels
and its easy to put the Dish up with out an installer.
Rememember. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.
If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance. And finally, be really nice to your family and friends; you never know
when, You might need them to empty your bedpan.

In the end ITV digital gave the liquidators cash to offset the costs involved with the old boxes. I have an old ondigtal Nokia box in the attic for the kids to use. But these boxes are very unreliable they often crash, slow and don't support freeview new features like 8 day EPG and some text,
An Ondigital box is a Freeview box...

Technically thay could be considered stolen property, I seem to remember the liquidators asking for payment or you have to send them back?

    Of course no one bothered!

No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you

Basically the bad channels are -

    BBC1
    BBC2
    ITV1
    Channel 4

    Most of
    ITV 2
    ITV 3
    Channel 4

The digital stations are not really affected. When it gets bad we have to switch back to the analogue TV, which is not too great as we never really tuned it for use without the box. Any body help?
