Questions about credit reports.

Hi
I have recently signed up to get my credit reports from experian and equifax and to my surprise a large number of previous debts that I've 'dodged' :o are not listed
Someone told me that if they are 6 years old they are taken off my report, so how do i pay them or does it mean it's written off.

    Hi

A debt that has not been paid for 6 years is covered by the Statute Of Limitations (5 years in Scotland).

The debt still exists but if you tell the creditor you are not paying, then it is considered unfair by the law, the courts and the OFT to pursue you in any way.

That does not stop DCAs who bought the debt for a pittance from trying to claim the full book value from you, but they have no legal power.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
