i would love to make some naan bread, i make bread all the time in my machine, but i usually use it more to mix the dough, as i like to make rolls more than loaves.
has anyone made naan dough in a machine? is there a naan recipe anyone can recommend? i've tried searching on here and not found anything, so apologies if there's already a thread on this.

I use my machine for dough only too. I get better results that way
Here is the recipe I use for Naan Bread- 100ml tepid water
- 60ml natural yoghurt at room temperature
- 10 oz/ 280g bread flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp clear honey
- 1 tablespoon melted butter, plus 2-3 tablespoons
- 1 tsp rapid rise or easy blend yeast
- Put water and yoghurt into the bread machine pan
- Sprinkle the flour over, make sure it covers the liquid
- Add the salt, honey and 1 tblsp butter in seperate corners of the bread pan
- Make a small indent int the centre of the flour, not as far as the liquid and add the yeast
- Set to dough setting using the basic or pizza setting
- When the cycle has finishedpreheat the oven to its highest setting
- Place 3 baking sheets in the oven to heat.
- Remove dough from the bread pan and put onto a lightly floured surface
- Knock the dough backand divide into three equal pieces
- Shape each piece int a ball and cover two of the pieces with oiled cling film or a damp teatowel.
- Rollout the remaining dough into a teardrop shape about a quarter of an inch thick, cover with cling film and roll out the other two pieces the same.
- Preheat the grill to its highest setting.
- Put the naan onto the preheated baking sheets and cook for 4-5 mis until puffed up
- Remove from the oven and put them under the hot grill until they start to brown and blister, brush with the leftover melted butter and serve warm.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

thanks, i've seen loads of recipes but none for machine, and some were a bit complicated (using heated milk etc) this looks simple enough, i'd rather use a recipe that someone has tried and tested rather than randomly picking one from the net!:D will get the yoghurt tomorrow and will have a go. thanks:Ttotally a tog!:D0

is there a reason for the order and placement? I assume it would be ok as long as you keep the yeast away from any liquid or salt. Thats the rule i follow and it works for me ?A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
