Trying to improve my Credit Rating.....

Hi all,
I'm a bit confused, and hoped someone could offer some advice?
I have one default on my Equifax and Callcredit files - £565, from 2004
Back in November, I did lots of MSE research and as a result I am now on electoral roll (since Nov 08) and have opened up two mail order accounts (Limits/Balance: Littlewoods £1100/£90, Great Universal £650/£70) which I pay minimum (interest free) payment each month.
I also have a Vanquis cc (Limit £1,500 / Balance >£700) which I've paid off in full each month for 2 years in June.
I thought I was doing all the right things, but I've just logged onto my credit reports 6 months later, and the scores are exactly the same despite these new credit accounts and perfect 5 yr history.
I didn't expect it to happen overnight, but I thought 6 months of doing things right would have at least showed some improvements. I'm feeling thoroughly deflated now, does anyone have any reasons why I'm not getting anywhere?
Any advice / similar scenarios very much welcomed
Thanks for reading.

They have been like this since Nov 20080 -
Have you seen the improve your credit rating thread on the Credit card forum?

Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Hi, yeah I have thanks. That was really helpful last year and I took a lot of guidance/tips from there to set things up as I explain in OP, but it hasn't made any difference at all. That's why I'm confused. I feel I'm doing everything right without any sign of progress.
Thanks for the tip anyway0 -
if you only got on electroll in nov 08, that may have some bearing on your score. the updates should be showing but it will help once you have been 'registered' there for a while. i think it will help but as it is recent, it will still see you as a 'new' person in terms of credit iyswim? hang in there. you are doing all the right things from what i can see. i am sure there will be otheres along to give you more advice soon. good luck xProud to be Member of BSC #92Hoping to get debt free again :wall::heart2: working hard to make my daughters proud :heart2:0

I had to PROMPT my creditors to update my credit rating when I got back into regular payments and settlements etc...Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!0
