help with tricky situation with mortgage

i bought a property in joint name with my brother approx 4 years ago. he has not contributed towards deposit/mortgage ( only reason his name was added was to obtain a mortgage using joint income). I need to know if there is any way his name can be removed from the mortgage/house deed. i currently live in the property and he is not in contact with me anymore.

You need to do a few things:

1. See if you can get a mortgage on your own for the amount required
2. If so, get his permission to be removed from the title deeds

You will need to be in contact with him. He may have a claim to any equity in the property.

You will need to get in touch with him. You w ill have to be able to service the loan on your own.

You can go through the courts but it will be costly and I cant remember how many years it takes.
