My sis and I used to fight over the calculator when walking around Kwik Save with my dad
Then we had the mile-long bank to climb back up home with all the shopping bags, making detours for the greengrocer's and butcher's. Ah the good ole days!
Thankfully we had a car. since back then my dad was a mechanic he'd flatline if he didn't have 4 wheels and an engine :rotfl: Some people drink, smoke -my dad had a rally car (his hobby) with no back seat which was used to ferry us kids around. The good old days before Health and Safety demanded the use of seatbeltsI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Mine just drank and smoke unfortunately :rotfl: He was the old-fashioned Sunday pub/few cans a night type fella - just think of the extra we would have had without the money going on that! I think I would have preferred the car tooSnap with the calculator in kwik save - long live the broken biscuit! :T

Luckily we were still too young then to really be embarrassed - totting it all up on the calculator was more of a game to us really. Broken biscuits just reminded me too of when we would stock up on everything possible, i.e. cereal, broken biscuits, washing powder, flour, at the local Weigh House too - I don't even know if those shops are still going now...
Love and compassion to all x0 -

It's a car drive away but I do visit a nursery for my fresh veggies. Hope some of that will be a thing of the past once my own veggies start growing. Am rather stupidly excited that I have a cauliflower and broccoli seed sprouting in my windowsil propagator :jI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
