I offer a great deal of advice on this forum, I have the perfect letter for you re Westminster Solicitors

Pity you've blown the chance to use it to your advantage due to your offensive attitude.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional

I'm sure you do and if I caused offence well nothing I can do about that now and I am not about to get into a childish game of cat and mouse ie "well you offended me so your not getting the letter!" I left all that behind in primary school!

Hey - this is a stressful situation for the OP to be in, try and remember that she's probably on edge with worrying about it!

OP, why do you think you would be made homeless over a bill to orange? they are not going to arrest your wages over this, you need to deal with it and communicate with them, but they cant bully or force you into handing money over that you dont have, or need for essentials e.g food, rent.

If you go to court over this, and i wouldnt say that's definite especially if you pop along to the CAB for help, but going to court may be a good thing for you because a judge will look at your income and your outgoings. The judge will know that keeping a roof over your head is more important than paying Orange, judge will also know that you cant pay what you cant afford!

Debts in priority order are rent, council tax, gas/electric/water/food
then everything else. If you turn up to court with the CAB a judge may well make the repayments less than you think.

TBH not getting in touch with them to make an arrangement to pay is probably where you went wrong, but dont worry - just dont bury your head in the sand, if you have to go to court, go and explain face to face, they wont make you pay what you cant afford!!!!

    hth

ps - to the rest, it doesnt sound like it would be statue barred, its tricky doing that in practice anyway
and erm why arent why talking about taking the ex-boyfriend to the small claims court as it was his debt?

you DEFINITELY owe 10past6 an apology, even taking into account your stresses over the debt demands.
you could have simply asked about the reason for the questions and not jumped straight to thinking she was taking the mick out of you.
youve come here asking for help, no one HAS to give you any, but 10past6 took the time to ask questions and try to get a full picture of your situation to help you in the best possible way (now personally i call that, going the extra mile). There is no cat and mouse about that, the help was there, you shunned it (very rudely i might add), so the help has been withdrawn, and with good cause.
Now i suggest you atart with an apology and continue from there with a refreshed attitude.
