Hi
I still collect the old way, with £1 coins in a sock. I think it was because Charles Bronson filled a sock with coins in the first Death Wish film and used it as a weapon before he had a gun. I feel a lot safer with my pound coins around:-)
I also bid 50p in an auction once and won an empty giant whisky bottle. It is now home to every coin that is not a £1 coin or a 5p coin (5p's are special and get fed to the silver pig - a bank given to my wife when she was a child, if I remember correctly)
Just shows you the fun you can have with money. Sometimes we get to spend it but we feel bad and miss the counting sessions, especially the bottle which holds about £50 even when only a quarter full.
Did I mention the other box with the European looking 50p coins (you know, the ones with the circle of hands) and the wallet with a few £20 notes that we cashed from the other socks and places. Oh, it just gets so exciting... I'm off to count something.

Hi
Just found another box with some of those Jack Nicklaus FIVERS in it. Anything different usually makes a good collectable saving theme. Keep saving. Cheers. Bob.0 -

Quick sell them on ebay. Not sure if they worth more than face value but they might be to some collector as there was only a limited number.
