Landy bridal question...

Im sorry in advance if someone has already asked this but I have been reading up alot on here about Landy and still feel I needed to ask!
So, as we all know the pics on their website are ripped from the original designers' websites and catalogue's and from what ive heard- the dresses are pretty damn close to the originals when they get sent to you. But what if I was to send a piccy of the dress I tried last month from a certain designer- would they actually know what fabric to use or would they go purely on the picture? Its just that my dress has like a taffetta layer over the top which has that kind of creased/looks like it needs an iron (dont judge it til you see it lol) look which you cant really see from the pic I sent them.
Can anyone tell me if they are likely to get this dress right or am I going to be dissapointed? Also can anyone tell me if they come 'boned' or do you have to ask them specifically to do this for you?...
All help greatly appreciated! Thanks! x

You might get a better response if you stick this on the landy thread but do you know the dress you are describing sounds similar to one I tried on by special days and loved.. well i loved the bottom of it as it was a pleated chiffon

i wondered if theyd be able to copy from a pic too...0 -
Yours are lovely! Ive heard they are pretty good at copying from the pic but I would still love to hear from someone who actually is in reciept of one! Mind you, if they sent me something too dissimilar I would just have to get another one which would in total still be much less than a shop-bought one!
Here is a piccy of mine:

Lovely.. I see the ironing bits you were talking about are horizontal!
How come you aren't just getting it from this place? - I dont reckong landy will be able to do this dress for much cheaper than the $158.99 they are quoting..0 -
Do you know what? I actually dont know! Its funny because I googled the dress name for a piccy and I have just been thinking the exact same thing myself! The only things is I have heard LOADS of great success stories about Landy and have never heard of this company: peridress.com
So next question!?.... Anyone dealt with them before!

I'm sorry, I haven't but maybe someone else will be able to shed some light... Im going to bookmark the site and have a look myself tho, so I hope someon gets back to you!!0 -
The Landy thread is getting pretty huge - but there are a few examples of brides who have had a dress made to a picture in there and been happy with the dress they got. If you can't see the detail clearly in the picture of the dress you want is there a picture of the effect on a similar dress you can send to them to give them as much info as possible to go on? Perhaps we should start a 'Landy Dresses - the results & photos' thread!0

Very good idea! Maybe I should! x:j :jTotally and utterly debt free as of 27/05/09!!!:j :j0

If it's an Ian Stewart, he uses a lot of "creased taffeta" which is a specific fabric. Much like crinkle chiffon.0
