CSA - Arrears and when child becomes 18

Hi,

My wife gets CSA sporadically from her ex partner.
She missed out on (to her reckoning) £10,000+ from 10 years of him not paying a penny.

CSA have been involved for the last 8 or so years.

When the catch up with him after he has changed jobs yet again, he pays an amount which includes arrears.

The question we have is this:
what happens to the arrears once the children concerned become 18 or leave school? are the arrears payable until paid or do the csa stop being involved once the children are "grown up"?

Is there any other way of recovering the monies owed if the CsA stop being involved.

Can you get a statement of what is owed in arrears in total off the CSA?

cheers,

Scoobyandy

Firstly, the latest cut off date for the child is when they reach 19 & not 18.
If they leave further education before they're 19, then liability to the CSA ends the following September.
If arrears are showing on the account, then the CSA should continue to keep the case open until all arrears are paid.
Yes, you should be able to get a statement of your account. They're supposed to send out a basic statement every 6 months, but this does not show how the arrears were accrued, just the amount.
