Finally got home (a 15 minute journey from my girlfriend's taking 2hrs thanks to an idiot cutting me up, forcing me onto the kerb and my tyre to burst)

...but hey, that's a different story....

....anyway got home, started sorting out all my jobs to do, logged on to PB and lo & behold, they'd credited my 1,000 "JackpotJoy" points

Without me asking, or chasing them up or anything!

Am still reeling in slight amazement, but credit where it's due I suppose!

How did you get 36? I've only ever got them in 5's or 10's.

I also have a wierd number - 2556. I think my '6' originated from an amazon purchase for some reason...

It really gets on my nerves when people slate this site.

You sign up for free, and they give you money for doing basic things. And yet people moan that there isn't many clickthroughs etc. One clickthrough is still 10p that you wouldnt have had before.

Myself, I cant remember the last time I saw a clickthrough but I will keep checking and if one appears it appears and if doesnt ... ah well!

    Stop moaning!!!

Sorry it gets on your nerves, but that's forums for you. :)

A lot of people seem to be confused about this, but, as you implied, nothing is actually 'free' on Pigsback. We are all working, (though it might seem like fun, which is cool), by clicking on things, reading things, signing up for other things, etc, and, (this is important), offering our contact details and agreeing to receive communication through email and the post. These things are worth money to Pigsback and the companies they feature on their website.

This is all fine in my book, and I guess in most people's, but let's be absolutely clear about it and not kid ourselves, Pigsback is a business, and no-one is giving anyone anything for free. It's a great idea, and most of the time everyone benefits, but Pigsback aren't giving away money for nothing. They are making enough money out of us all to pay their staff, office overheads, web developers, advertising, etc, (and presumably a nice fat profit for their directors). They're nice guys I'm sure, but they're not a charity. We are being paid for our time, interest and contact details, plus a small amount of cashback from any purchases we happen to make through Pigsback, which comes out of the advertising budgets of the companies who pay Pigsback for advertising space on their website.

Pigsback also know that they have to maintain people's interest, so it's a good idea for them to keep the clickthroughs and competitions coming. I'm sure they spend time racking their brains on ways to keep things going until they put the next lot of clickthroughs on. Once they are there, sites like MSE, Piggybackquest and others do the rest of the work for them. Every time someone posts on here to say, 'how do I do this?' or 'I haven't received my vouchers', or 'look a new clickthough', it's keeping the interest going and spreading the word.

I suppose the only free thing around here really is the free advertising they get every time one of us posts a comment, good or bad, so I don't suppose they mind too much.

All publicity is good publicity! :D

Doing the jackpots also gives uneven numbers sometimes as the winnings can be any number.
