I picked up some little bags of bagged salad yesterday in Asda, but they're probably not going to last out the week. Would it be alright to freeze, or would it go a bit mushy?
Thanks, MM

You can freeze anythingbut you're right - anything with a high water content, such as salad, won't be still crispy once it's defrosted.

It won't work for salad in my opinion. Best only to buy those bags when you can rejig your meal plan and eat them on the day or next at most.0

You could always just turn it into soup - fry onion and garlic, add the bag of salad with a made up veggie stock cube and some herbs and boil gently for a while. Take off the head, whizz up, taste and enjoy
I turn nearly everything into soup, it's amazing what DD'll eat if it's in a soup *evil cackle*0 -
You definitely cannot freeze a bag of salad adn it be edible once defrosted - I would advise against it, chances are it might last a few more days in the fridge, even if it says it won't0

Are they bags of salad leaves? If so you can cook a side dish of lettuce with peas. Google it! The lettuce wilts down, so you'll probably be able to eat more than if you had to chomp your way through it raw! Also slice it and toss it in at the end of cooking any kind of stirfry dish. Just let it wilt down very briefly and serve!0

i'd go for a soup.. or make it into a stirfry...

If you have lettuce that has wilted a bit, you can revive it by plunging it into ice cold water with a bit of salt added. This may work for a couple of days worth, but I dont think you can freeze. I hear that lettuce soup is nice. :rolleyes:0
