Scottish Power won't write off my debt!

Hi
Spoke to Marion in Colin Young's old office and there is a new department dealing with bankruptcies at MANWEB office. Number is 01978 774467.
Just be sure to separate your account into two sections- all amounts due up to the date of bankruptcy and all amounts due AFTER that date which are still due for payment by you. Whatever that new figure is, all your payments you have made AFTER the date of bankruptcy go towards that debt.
Don't worry about Scottish Power as they are approachable when you break the problem down in this way and speak to the right people.
Let us know how you get on. Regards. Bob.0 -
thanks for the number Bob
Do you know how i should go about getting myself put onto meters? Should i stick with Scottish Power and ask them to put them in, or should i just go with someone else?0 -
Hi
Stay put for about another week or two until the market sorts itself out. By then all the major players will have advertised their prices and you can phone a few of the better ones for quotes, including Scottish Power who I found to be good for the joint Gas/Electricity package. Others on this forum are more knowledgeable than I am on the subject so ask around the right parts of this site for your answer.
Certainly don't be afraid of prepayment card meters but just be suspicious everyt ime they take a meter reading and seem to be changing the tariff without telling you. I alwys ask when they go in the cupboard, but I am never convinced they are telling you the truth anyway. Maybe that's just me.
Hope you get sorted. Well done for tackling this head on. Cheers. Bob.0
